How does the Reverse IP Lookup work with Drift Intel?
If the site visitor is anonymous, we leverage our reverse IP lookup functionality; Drift Intel powered by our partners or one of our natively supported integrations, to tell you what account the visitor is from when there is a confirmed match. Drift Intel is powered by multiple data providers including Clearbit, 6Sense, and Crunchbase. This allows you to de-anomymize your site traffic so you can deliver personalized experiences using firmographic information about them such as the company name, industry, location, and more.
How do Pardot/Marketo Cookies come into play?
If a site visitor has been cookied by Pardot/Marketo, they can be targeted by a Drift playbook. Our 2-way integration also includes list targeting (we call this Conversational ABM) so you can sync the audiences you've already built in Marketo/Pardot over to Drift. By doing so, you can deliver personalized messages to those groups on your website eliminating the need to define those targeting parameters again when building your playbooks.
What if I don't use Pardot, or Marketo? How does Drift know who I'm talking with?
If a site visitor has been cookied by Drift through a previous conversation, we leverage any and all information they gave to personalize their experience when they return. That means they won't have to give their email again, answer the same qualifying questions, etc. This increases the chance of someone identifying themselves with an email address which we can then match to their contact record in SFDC.
