We're launching our integration with Pardot! This integration will allow you to push prospect Data from Drift into Pardot, map attributes, see events, and set owners.
In this doc, we'll cover
- authorizing the integration
- mapping attributes
- sync settings
- the event log
This integration is available on our Premium (formerly Company) and Enterprise plans.
We support Versions 3 and 4 of Pardot. For more information on V4, check out Pardot's developer documentation here.
Connecting the Integration
Head to Settings > App Settings > Integrations > Pardot, or click here!
You'll be asked to sign in with your Pardot credentials, including your email, password, and Pardot user key.
Within Pardot, you should be able to find your user key by going to Settings > My Profile > API User Key.
You'll then be presented with a modal to authorize Pardot to access your Drift data. Click the green Authorize App button.
Connecting the Pardot integration will fail if you try to log in using an account that is also being used to login with Single Sign-On (SSO) for Salesforce. To avoid this, we recommend logging in with another existing account or provisioning a new account to be used to connect Drift and Pardot.
Customizing the Pardot Integration
You can now select which attributes you'd like to map from Drift into Pardot and also which data you'd like to sync!
Synced Pardot Data
From the Pardot configuration page, click Synced Pardot Data. You'll be brought to a screen with several options.
From here, you'll be able to choose to sync prospects into Pardot with or without a Minimum CQL score and assign a lead owner.
For the assignment of lead owner, we set the owner based on who books a meeting with a prospect, who was routed into a given conversation, or who closes the conversation, in that order.
If you choose to assign a lead owner, you can click Show advanced settings to select the field in Pardot to which we map that value.
You can also Identify Drift visitors with the Pardot cookie so that when a contact in Pardot engages with a Playbook or message, their email will be known in the conversation view!
You can also select which Drift or custom attributes you'd like to map into Pardot.
From the Pardot configuration page, click Mapped Pardot Attributes. From there, you can select your attributes in Drift and the field you'd like to map them to within Pardot.
The Event Log
If you ever run into issues where prospects don't seem to be syncing, or to check on events and activities added to prospects, you can check the event log.
From the Pardot configuration page, click Pardot Event Log. You'll see a log that you can manipulate by custom time periods and view All Activity, Errors, etc.
An Event Log with No Activity
Here's the empty state event log. Change the timeframe to see more events!
An Event Log with Activity:
On the left, you'll see the timestamp of the activity. This should correspond to the time a conversation was closed.
On the right, you'll see Successfully created or Successfully updated along with the email of the prospect and the action taken.
Any errors will appear in red text.
