You can now use Drift to take payments through Stripe. This will allow your customer to buy NOW rather than later. In this doc, we'll show you how to
- set up the integration
- what payment looks like in the conversation view
Note: We take you and your customers' privacy extremely seriously. Drift does not store any payment information.
Integrating with Stripe will be available on the Standard plan and above. This integration is currently in a closed beta, but we're working to make this available to everyone as quickly as possible!
Setting up the Integration
Head to Settings > App Settings > Integrations > Stripe, or click here.
Click the Stripe Payments glyph.
You'll be prompted to enter both your Private Key and Public Key.
You can find these on your Stripe Dashboard, by clicking Get your live API keys. Be careful to place your API keys in the correct spaces!
Click Connect and you'll see a success state!
How to Request Payment in the Conversation View
In the conversation view, click the money bag symbol.
You'll see a modal appear where you can put in the amount of the request, the type of currency, a description, and a picture. Clicking Request will populate the request into the conversation.
Once it appears there, clicking Show preview will expand the request to show you additional details.
What Your Visitor or Customer Sees
The requestee will see the amount of the request along with any other details you included. They'll have the option to Enter Payment or Decline Payment. Should they accept, they'll be able to enter their credit card information and submit payment. If they decline payment, the bot will jump in and send a closing message.
We never see or store payment information in Drift. Payment information and data is handled completely by Stripe. If you have additional questions about how we keep this information secure, please reach out to email@example.com.
